Each planet’s position is shown as a degree within its zodiac sign (0°–29°). For example, “Sun 18° Aquarius” means the Sun is at the 18th degree of Aquarius. The full degree column shows the absolute ecliptic longitude (0°–360°) and the lord column shows the traditional ruling planet of the sign.

What are the current planetary positions today?

This page displays live planetary positions with exact degrees, zodiac signs, and house placements for right now. Data is recalculated every time you load the page using precise ephemeris data, so it always reflects the current sky.

How are planetary degrees calculated?

Positions are computed geocentrically using the DE421 ephemeris and mapped to the tropical zodiac. Each planet’s position is shown as a degree within its sign (0°–29°) plus the full 360° ecliptic longitude.

What aspects are active between planets right now?

The aspect map shows all current angular relationships: conjunction (0°), sextile (60°), square (90°), trine (120°), opposition (180°), and quincunx (150°). The orb value tells you how close each aspect is to exact. For detailed interpretations, see our Today’s Planetary Aspects page.

What is the difference between Western and Vedic planetary positions?

Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac (aligned to seasons), while Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac (aligned to fixed stars). Planets appear roughly 24° earlier in the sidereal system. This page uses the tropical zodiac.

What does retrograde (℞) mean?

When a planet appears to move backward through the zodiac from Earth’s perspective, it’s called retrograde. Retrograde periods are traditionally associated with review, delays, and revisiting themes related to that planet.
